It looks like Donald Trump is giving Big Bird those two dreaded words: “You’re fired!”

In a his proposal budget released yesterday, the president plans to cut funding for 19 different agencies, including Public Broadcasting. This would mean saying goodbye to Sesame Street, which has been delighting children since 1969.

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy showed Donald Trump breaking the news to good old Big Bird in a hilarious yet sad spoof of The Apprentice. We see Donald uttering his classic line, “I say you’re fired,”  after which Big Bird tells his teddy bear sadly, “I guess we’ll have to find a new place to live.”

Jimmy then urges Trump to check out the beloved children’s show before it is gone forever. He said, “That show teaches so many things he needs to know: which thing is bigger than the other, how to spell, the importance of telling the truth and sharing, listening to others. Maybe throw in some ‘Schoolhouse Rock!’ He could find out how government works.”
