Teenage girls unite!

Shawn Mendes will be making his big-screen acting debut in Ivan Reitman’s musical Summer of Love.

Although Shawn voiced a character in the animated film Underdogs, this will be his first live-action part in a feature.

Shawn has come a long way from his Vine days.  The 18-year-old Canadian is now a star with hits like “Stitches” and “Treat You Better.”

The two Canadians are uniting and currently, the film is being shopped to studios.

Shawn has never acted in a film and Ivan has never directed a musical, so this should be fun!

Details are still under wraps about the film, but the title is thought to be about 1967, and the opposition to the Vietnam War.  It was a colorful and musical time in history.  We’ll see if this teen heartthrob can pull it off.
