Nothing sucks more than getting a tattoo with your man to commemorate the relationship, only to split a few weeks later. Talk about a permanent reminder!

Before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split last September, the two had gotten tattooed together in February 2016. The artist was Ajarn too Kanpai, a former monk in Thailand.

For Angie, Ajarn did three intricate “magical” Sak Yant tattoos on her back — Buddhist symbols believed to give the wearer powers associated with healing, luck, strength, and protection against evil.

Brad also got Sak Yants on the left side of his tummy, according to sources. And apparently, Ajarn used the same ink for both tattoos to “symbolically bind them as husband and wife.” Though in retrospect, perhaps it was a bad idea…

The duo got the tats while Angie was on a break from direction First They Killed My Father.
