Today, the outspoken actress was seen out and about in New York City, New York today, rocking her brand new platinum blonde buzz cut. Kristin revealed the reason for the bold choice this morning during her visit to TODAY. She said:

“I’m doing a movie in a couple of weeks called ‘Underwater,’ and I play a mechanical engineer that’s working in an oil rig that’s on the bottom of the ocean floor. So for me, I was like, ‘It’s practical! I mean, I’m not going to be able to have touch-ups once I put the helmet on. I must shave my head!'”
Apparently Kristin has wanted to try the hairstyle for a while now, and the movie was a good motivation. She’s clearly very happy with with her decision, as she added:
“Oh my God, it feels amazing! I just want to headbang all day.”
