Donald Trump Had a Meeting in the Oval Office With TMZ Founder Harvey Levin

Donald Trump hasn’t had the best relationship with the media. Not long ago, he blocked the likes of CNN and Politico from covering a press briefing; not to mention he constantly calls on the media’s supposed reporting of “fake news.”

But in the mix, there are a few he’s willing to meet in spite of it — TMZ’s Harvey Levin being one of them.

According New York Times, the founder of TMZ met with Trump last week. And because it was unmentioned on the president’s public schedule, hardly anyone knew about it. Reports say that Harvey spent nearly an hour in the Oval Office chatting with Trump. The two had previously worked together when Harvey interviewed him for a Fox News special called Objectified: Donald Trump, which aired last fall.

“The show was a huge success, and the two were discussing future opportunities,” Hope Hicks, a White House spokeswoman, said to the NY Times.

Sources with direct knowledge of the visit said the two were talking about doing another interview for Objectified, which would be a spinoff from the first special. The show features celebrities who describe cherished objects in their lives.

The visit came the day after Trump’s first formal Congress, and sources say Harvey also received a tour of the residence, including the Lincoln Bedroom.

As we all know, Harvey started TMZ in 2005 focusing on tabloid news. Since then, it’s become somewhat of a phenomenon that outsources breaking news related to pop culture and celebrities, much of which is gathered by various blogs and other major publications.
