Meryl Streep Sets Record Straight About Karl Lagerfeld Dress Fiasco
On Thursday, it was reported to Women’s Wear Daily, that Meryl Streep and Karl Lagerfeld were in a tiff over a dress for the Oscars.
Apparently, Meryl decided against wearing a Chanel gown that Karl had already started making for her.
According to Karl’s camp, a call came through from Meryl’s people saying, “‘Don’t continue the dress. We found somebody who will pay us.'”
Meryl’s team rebutted with a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying that Karl’s accusations were absolutely false, and it’s against her personal ethics to be paid to wear a gown on the red carpet.
