STOP! Let’s Remind Ourselves How George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin Met

Once upon a time, George Clooney was one of Tinseltown’s hottest bachelors and swore he would never get married (well, again, after his marriage to actress Talia Balsam).

But that was before meeting Amal Alamuddin, now Amal Clooney.

Amal was working as a human rights attorney in Lake Como, Italy, and in 2013, she came with a mutual friend to his house, after which the actor was taken aback by not only her beauty, but the brains! Turns out, he chased her for months before she finally succumbed.

As he told Ellen, six months later when he proposed, things didn’t work out exactly as planned: “I plotted the whole thing out,” he said. “I had the ring hidden behind her. I had music playing, my Aunt Rosemary’s [i.e. Rosemary Clooney] gonna sing ‘Why Shouldn’t I.’ Everything was planned out . . . it was like 25 minutes. Finally I literally said, ‘Look, I hope the answer’s yes, but I need an answer ’cause I’m 52 and I could throw out my hip pretty soon.’ And she said ‘Oh, yes,’ and it worked out really well.”

The couple ended getting married in Venice two years ago, and now they’re expecting twins.

If only all Hollywood romances were so adorable.
