It’s hard to grasp the once infamous Hollywood bachelor is now married and expecting twins! But hey, we all know George Clooney is going to be one of the best dads ever, and no one knows that more than pal Matt Damon.

Matt is already a father of four daughters, so he knows a thing or two about raising kids.

“Those kids are really lucky,” Matt said to Today‘s Natalie Morales. “She’s spectacular… He’ll be great. He’s so smart, he’s so loving. He’s going to be great.”

If anyone is a good judge of character, it’s Matt. After all, he was there when George and his wife Amal got married in Venice a couple years ago. In fact, he’s known about the twins for a while, adding that when they were working together last fall, George came up to him on set and took him aside and told him: “I was so happy for him,” he said.

“I said, ‘How far along are you?’ And he said ‘eight weeks!’ And I said, ‘Don’t say anything!’” Damon said. “He didn’t know the 12-week rule. You’re supposed to wait!” He also gives his two cent advice: “I mean twins? They’re going to need [help].”
