Even one of the world’s most successful models has to play it cool every once in a while, especially when it comes to boys!

In an interview on Ellen, supermodel Gigi Hadid shared the moment she first locked eyes with boyfriend, former One Direction member Zayn Malik, whom she’s been dating for nearly two years now.

“We actually met at a friend’s birthday party a few years ago,” she explained, “and then he was in New York to come to the Victoria’s Secret show last year I think and ended up not coming. I was like I’ll play it cool. I’ll go to the after-party…he wasn’t there. Later that week, we ended up going on our first date.”

After playing it cool yet again, Gigi chimed in with “You’re really cute.” She explained further: “We connected like really quickly. We have kind of the same sense of humor and started sharing videos.”
