What?! Judy Garland Was Sexually Harassed by the Actors Playing the Munchkins
Judy Garland’s ex-husband Sid Left (father of Lorna Luft) has a posthumous memoir coming out next month, and in it he explains disturbing facts about his late wife, reports CBS News.
The book is called Judy and I: My Life with Judy Garland, and one of the stories Sid shares is one about the actors who played the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz, Judy’s most famous film.
‘They would make Judy’s life miserable on set by putting their hands under her dress … The men were 40 or more years old,” he wrote. “They thought they could get away with anything because they were so small.”
This isn’t the first time we heard about the ten 16-year old Judy getting harassed by the Munchkins. In a 1967 interview with Jack Paar, Judy also said, “They were little drunks… They got smashed every night, and they picked them up in butterfly nets.”
