There is a new piece of evidence in the case between Kesha and Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald).

Kesha reportedly sent a text message to Lady Gaga on Feb. 26, 2016, in which Dr. Luke’s attorneys claim Kesha “falsely stated that another female recording artist had been raped by Gottwald, and again repeated the baseless assertion that Kesha had been raped by Gottwald.” Dr. Luke and his lawyers are trying to use Kesha’s text to prove that she was attempting to damage his reputation and his business, Buzzfeed reported.

Lady Gaga has shown Kesha a lot of support throughout her ordeal. In an March interview with Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio, Lady Gaga spoke up about her own experience with assault, and stood by her friend’s side. She said:

“I feel like she’s being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men,” she said. “I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer.”

In August of 2016, Kesha dropped the charges of sexual assault against Dr. Luke in California to focus on her music, but is still pursuing charges against him in the state of New York. She posted on Instagram explaining herself and thanking fans.
