“Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” will hopefully air at some point on TBS, the network that brings us Full Frontal, and word is the proceeds will go towards the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Samantha Bee has big plans on April 29, but they do not include attending Trump’s first White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
Apparently, the 47-year-old comedian and Full Frontal star will attend another event. An event she has hilariously named “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner”.
Typically, the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner is hosted by a comedian, and usually involves the president making some jokes to entertain the crowd. Samantha’s dinner will be a bit different though, in that she will lead the charge of several comedians armed and ready to roast The President, without him actually present. You know, since he’ll be at the other dinner. She told The New York Times:
“We’re not trying to supersede it. We just want to be there in case something happens — or doesn’t happen — and ensure that we get to properly roast the president.”
