Flash back to 1991, when a little movie called What About Bob? came out of nowhere and became a massive cult classic. Cut to present, and NBC is looking to bring this comedy gold right into your living room, every single week, with a twist! The iconic roles, originated by Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus, will be reimagined with female leads, and the fitting title, What About Barb?

If you somehow missed the original, lonely and phobic Bob Wiley (Bill Murray) meets uptight and impatient therapist Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss). Dr. Marvin goes on a family vacation. Bob needs Dr. Marvin just to get through the day. Bob travels to Lake Winnipesaukee to see him, and becomes a part of his family, much to Dr. Wiley’s dismay. Hilarity ensues big time!

The Touchstone Pictures film was a huge success in the box office, and went on to become a comedy staple. ABC Studios has been kicking the reboot series idea around since 2015. Development producer, Zack Olin changed the leads to women, and after an extensive search,  Joe Wiseman and Joe Port were secured to write, and NBC took over. No word yet on the cast.

We’re already LOL’ing! Which ladies do you think can bring the funny like Bill and Richard?
