‘You Oughta Know’ where your money is going!

Alanis Morissette’s manager, Jonathan Todd Schwartz, admitted in court to having stolen $6.5 million from the singer. Schwartz, who was a partner at GSO Business Management, reportedly withdrew and transferred her money, forging her signature to do so, and lied about what was being done with the funds. She wasn’t the only victim, however, as it is also estimated that $1.7 million was stolen from other celebrities, yet to be identified.

Schwartz will appear in court on February 1 for sentencing. Though the maximum sentence is 23 years in prison, he will most likely serve 4 to 6 as the result of a plea deal. He will also be required to pay back the total of what he stole.

Thankfully, Alanis will get justice. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll channel this emotional ordeal into another fabulous hit song!

Go, Alanis!
