It’s official! A new version of the 1998 favorite show Charmed is in the works.

The CW has confirmed rumors that it’s actively developing a new version of the drama created by Aaron Spelling, which ran for eight seasons on The WB.

The reboot will have a twist.  The series will not be set in contemporary times like the original but in the year 1976.

No word yet as to which actors will be involved in the revamp.   The original cast members were Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowen.  Even though they can’t play their original roles, there are lots of creative ways to involve them.

Holly and Alyssa tweeted about the news, and Rose stayed quiet as of now.  As we know, Shannon has breast cancer and is focusing on her health.
