Leah Remini Interviews David Miscavige’s Father

David Miscavige is the leader of the Scientology religion. When L. Ron Hubbard (the founder) died, Miscavige took over. For Scientologists, he’s redeemed as a sort of Pope figure. But now, his dad came out of the woodwork, and he has some interesting things to say.

Leah Remini’s new show about Scientology on A&E times to pull the cloak off the religion and expose it for the awful things it’s been doing to members. In the latest episode, Ron Miscavige, the estranged father of David, was a guest and talked about his experiences.

Describing his son as a smart, determined kid who would remove anyone who stood in his way, Ron says David left home at 16 to start working for L. Ron Hubbard, working his way up the ladder. Once he ascended the ranks in the religion, David no longer acknowledged Ron as his father and there was no way of contacting each other because emails and letters were all monitored.

Ron left the church, thus forcing David to disconnect from him. He claims that he was being tracked by GPS and followed for months after leaving the church. He even said that his son told surveillance people to allow him to die should he have a heart attack.

Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath airs on A&E Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
