New Report Exposes How Much $$ Hollywood A-Listers Are Making in T.V.

There are over 50 outlets producing scripted original programming, reports Hollywood Reporter, and as a result the price tag for Hollywood’s most iconic actors have been skyrocketing.

Robert De Niro is reportedly getting $750,000 for each of the 20 episodes of an upcoming Amazon series, produced by David O. Russell.

Meryl Streep is getting a reported $850,000 an episode for J.J. Abrams’ miniseries The Nix.

Kiefer Sutherland is getting around $300,000 per episode to star in ABC’s Designated Survival.

Dwayne Johnson is getting $450,000 per episode for HBO’s Ballers.

A lot of people from network television blame Netflix, HR writes, which will spend nearly $6 billion of original content this year — that includes paying Chris Rock $20 million each for two stand-up comedy specials, as well as Jonah Hill and Emma Stone getting $350,000 each episode for 10 episodes of Maniac.

To be fair, outlets like Amazon, HBO and Netflix don’t go into syndication — meaning, other cable channels won’t purchase them to air reruns because they’re already streamed globally within their respected platforms. That’s why the checks are so big (because they buy them out).

Still, that’s a lot of dough!
