Chris Rock Reveals He Has a Learning Disorder

Chris Rock revealed that he was diagnosed with a learning disorder earlier this year.

The comedian told The Hollywood Reporter that the disorder, NVLD, which makes it difficult for him to pick up on non-verbal signals, may have led to his divorce from ex-wife Malaak Compton in 2016.

“By the way, all of those things are really great for writing jokes — they’re just not great for one-on-one relationships,” he quipped.

“And I’d always just chalked it up to being famous,” he said of the disorder. “Any time someone would respond to me in a negative way, I’d think, ‘Whatever, they’re responding to something that has to do with who they think I am.’ Now, I’m realizing it was me. A lot of it was me.”

The star is now in therapy seven hours a week with two therapists to deal with his NVLD. He’s also since cut sugar from his diet and picked up more fitness training.

We love you, Chris.
