Lil Wayne Honors Kobe Bryant at 2020 BET Awards

Lil Wayne gave a special tribute in honor of Kobe Bryant at the BET Awards last night, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

As Kobe’s career was highlighted in photos in the background, the rapper sang his song “Kobe Bryant,” which was written in 2009.

Lil Wayne’s latest album, Funeral, was released days after Kobe’s death and had a 24-second moment of silence on the album’s eighth track to commemorate his life.

“He the greatest on the court / And I’m the greatest on the verse,” he raps on the track, adding, “I call him King Bryant, now let the crown show.”
