Halsey Was Gassed & Hit By Rubber Bullets by Police During LA Protest
In a recent tweet, Halsey claimed that she was hit by pellets and gassed for hours while protesting in Los Angeles.
“I dont know how to articulate the horrors of today. [National Guard] + officers firing rounds into kneeling crowds,” the singer singer tweeted about her weekend protesting.
“Myself + many of my peers were shot, gassed + antagonized,” she said, adding that she was safe and had not been arrested.
“We did not breach the line. hands were up. unmoving. and they gassed and fired,” she wrote. “They opened fire multiple times. I was hit twice. Once by pellets and once by shrapnel. We were gassed repeatedly for hours. Do not underplay these rubber bullets bc you have been told they are ‘not lethal’. I had to bandage a man who looked like his entire face had exploded today.”
Artist Yungblood credited credited Halsey for her participation in the protest later in the day.
