Walt Disney World Announces Reopening Date

The magic is back, y’all.

Walt Disney World in Orlando is reopening on July 11, according to a proposal presented to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force yesterday.

The park presented their safety plan to the Task Force. From there, it will be signed off by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings as well as Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks open on July 11, according to People. Epcot and Hollywood Studios will open July 15.

The parks will start off with soft opening preview days that “allow us to launch, learn and adjust along the way,” according to Jim MacPhee, Senior Vice President of Operations.

Attendance will also have a maximum number.

Disney will be “managing attendance demand through a new theme park reservation system. Guests will have to reserve in advance,” Jim said, adding that they plan on “reducing capacity on attractions, in restaurants and in retail stores, as well as on methods of transportation.”

Hm… we’re not quite sure this is a good idea, but at least we’ll have a bit of magic in such dark times.
