Donald Trump Once Tried to Lecture Richard Branson About the Airline Business

The nerve! Donald Trump — whose airline, Trump Shuttle, was an infamous failure — once lectured Richard Branson about how to run an airline.

Richard’s longtime publicist posted a 2014 letter Trump wrote him on her Facebook page this week.

In the letter, Trump apparently told Richard he should ditch his TV career and “concentrate on your airline, which I am sure, needs every ounce of your energy. It is obviously a terrible business and I can’t imagine, with fuel prices, etc., that you can be doing any better in it than anyone else.”

“Like television, you should try and get out of the airline business too, as soon as possible,” Trump added.

Trump owned his airline from 1989 until its demise in 1992.

Richard, however, founded Virgin Atlantic in 1984, and it continues to operate today.

Hm… not quite sure if Trump was the right guy to trust — then and now. Thankfully Richard was smart enough to have it go in one ear and out the other.
