Kaitlynn Carter Opens Up About Her Public Split from Miley Cyrus
The world watched Kaitlynn Carter and Miley Cyrus’s short, but dramatic, relationship.
This week, The Hills: New Beginnings star gave a wide-ranging interview with costar Whitney Port on Instagram Live, touching on how the public breakup impacted her.
“What happened to me, basically just after Miley and I went our separate ways, I thought, ‘Okay, my life’s just kinda going back to the way it normally was for me when I’m on my own,’ ” she recalled. “I had no expectations that anyone would give a s— about me by myself. I had no plan in place. I didn’t think about anything.”
Kaitlynn also explained she was surprised to see paparazzi following her soon after the breakup, and even more shocked to find that the next day it was reported she was “out on the town, partying with a mystery man just two weeks after her breakup.”
“I just didn’t anticipate anything like this happening,” she said. “I’m used to it when I’m, like, with Brody or when I was with her, but never when I’m on my own. My mind is just swirling.”
“I was just so mortified,” Kaitlynn added. “The narrative was so not what the actual situation was and that was such a wake-up call for me.”
Wow. Well, we all go through breakups but it’s a whole other level when you’re dating someone like Miley.
