Trump Pulls Funding for World Health Organization, Blaming Them For COVID Response

Donald Trump announced yesterday that he is halting funding from the United States to the World Health Organization. As for why, that’s your guess as much as ours!

The president claimed that the United Nations agency mismanaged the COVID-19 outbreak, deflecting many of his mistakes as theirs.

Furthermore, he said that a review will take place to “assess” the WHO’s “role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.”

“Today, I’m instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” he said during the White House’s daily press briefing Tuesday.

“Everybody knows what’s going on there,” Trump added.

Referring to his January 31 executive order blocking U.S. entry to people who’d been in China, he said, “One of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations. They were very much opposed to what we did.”

Well, if he wants to end the virus, does he really want to pull funding from one of the main organizations in the world that’s helping?

We give up. Watch and see for yourself.
