Katherine Schwarzenegger Encouraged LA Farmers Markets to Close — And They Did

Katherine Schwarzenegger is certainly showing herself to be an influential person in the world.

Recently, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver pleaded for more to be done around farmers markets in California amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The concern centered on the fact that farmers markets remained open in Los Angeles despite Mayor Eric Garcetti’s stay-at-home order, which forced closures of beaches and hiking trails the week before.

Apparently, Eric looked into her complaint quickly because, two days later, he announced that farmers markets would be temporarily suspended.

“We have seen images of dangerously crowded farmers markets –– so I’m announcing the temporary suspension of farmers markets pending City review of physical distancing plans needed to keep communities safe. We will review plans immediately so markets can stay open this week,” Eric announced this week.

Wow… and just like that, Katherine may have saved us all. It’s nice to be a Schwarzenegger. But seriously folks, obey the stay-at-home order!
