Idris Elba Bites Back at People Who Think He’s Faking Having COVID-19

Idris Elba is having none of it.

The actor recently slammed the argument that celebrities like himself, Tom Hanks, Kevin Durant, and Andy Cohen are being paid to claim they have contracted COVID-19.

The conspiracy was spawned after Cardi B posted a video on Instagram stating she believed that celebs could possibly be getting paid to tell the public they have coronavirus.

That’s when Idris posted a video to debunk the whole thing.

“This idea that someone like myself is going to be paid to say I have coronavirus, that’s like, absolute bulls–t,”  Idris said, though he made no reference to Cardi. “It’s stupid. It’s the quickest way to … get people sick,” Elba noted. “There’s no benefit to me and Sabrina sitting here saying we got it, and we ain’t got it.”

Ouch! Well, we’re not exactly sure why any A-lister — who, let’s face it, isn’t exactly needing the money — would get paid to pretend they had COVID-19.

Keep setting the record straight, Idris!
