Kim Kardashian Calls Taylor Swift ‘Very Self-Serving’ Over Leaked Kanye West Video
Kim Kardashian is finally speaking out about the 25-minute-long video of her husband Kanye West’s infamous phone call with Taylor Swift about his “Famous” lyrics.
Last night, Kim let herself GO on Twitter, defending herself after Taylor also broker her silence about the leaked video.
The reality star said that Taylor “has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now,” adding that she was “left without a choice but to respond” before accusing the singer of lying.
“To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that ‘Kanye never called to ask for permission…’ They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word ‘bitch’ was used without her permission,” Kim tweeted.
That’s when Taylor’s own publicist responded!
Kim continued, “At the time when they spoke the song had not been fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their actual conversation in her statement when her team said she ‘declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.’ The lie was never about the word bitch, It was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation.”
Of course, Kim is talking about a statement Taylor’s reps released after Kanye released “Famous.”
Taylor never denied the existence of the call, but did shoot down Kanye’s claims that she had signed off on the song — and that the lyrics were actually her idea.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” Taylor’s rep said in response at the time. “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”
Wow… well, clearly Kim is showing her lawyer training here, right? We’re just going to sit back with popcorn and watch this exchange. LOL!
