Our hearts are going out to Kathy Griffin, who is mourning the loss of her mother Maggie. The matriarch died yesterday at the age of 99.

Of course, the comic couldn’t help but mention the timing of Maggie’s death: “Oh, and OF COURSE she went on St Patrick’s Day,” she wrote on Instagram.

Maggie was a special lady, and we know she’s in a better place.
