Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys are begging a judge to give him only five years in prison, arguing he won’t survive in prison longer than that should he be sentenced.

Harvey faces up to 29 years in jail.

“The grave reality is that Mr. Weinstein may not even outlive that term,” his attorneys wrote in a letter to New York Supreme Court Justice James Burke.

His lawyers also asked Judge Burke to consider how Harvey’s life fell apart in the last couple years, writing, “Mr. Weinstein was constantly maligned by the media, having long since been convicted in the court of public opinion. His fall from grace has been historic, perhaps unmatched in the age of social media.”

Furthermore, they wanted the judge to consider Harvey’s otherwise clean record.

“The trial did not fairly portray who he is as a person,” they wrote.

Hm… well getting anything short of 20 years in prison is going to be a long shot, don’t you think?
