The Country Mourns Gay Mayor of Wilton Manors, Fla. Who Died From a Brain Aneurysm

The gay world is mourning the loss of Wilton Manors mayor, Justin Flippen, who was part of a history-making group of city leaders.

Justin died on Tuesday night from a brain aneurysm, according to the Broward Medical Examiner. He was 41.

According to reports, Justin was engaged to be married. After his mayoral election in 2018, Wilton Manors, which is widely known to have a heavily-gay population, became only the second city in the country to have all LGBTQ elected officials.

Presidential candidate Pete Buttigeig tweeted his condolences upon hearing the news.

He will be missed. RIP, Justin.
