Trump Thinks Supreme Court Justices, RBG and Sotomayor, Should ‘Recuse Themselves’ From Trump’s Cases

Donald Trump criticized Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg this week, saying they should “recuse” themselves from “Trump-related” legal cases because of supposed liberal bias.

“It’s very obvious,” he said during a news conference yesterday, according to USA Today. “Justice Ginsburg should [recuse herself] because she went wild during the campaign. Perhaps she was for Hillary Clinton.”

The president added that Sonia was “trying to shame people with perhaps a different view.”

Of course, these kinds of attacks are unusual for U.S. presidents, but hey, we seem to be living in Trump’s reality show.

According to the Washington Post, Sonia criticized the court’s conservative majority for allowing the Trump administration’s “public charge” immigration rule to go into effect, which gives the federal government the power to deny immigrants who seem likely to use public benefits in the United States.

“It is hard to say what is more troubling: that the Government would seek this extraordinary relief seemingly as a matter of course, or that the Court would grant it,” she wrote in her dissent.

“This is a terrible thing to say,” Trump tweeted Monday. “Trying to ‘shame’ some into voting her way? She never criticized Justice Ginsberg when she called me a ‘faker’. Both should recuse themselves on all Trump, or Trump related, matters! While ‘elections have consequences’, I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!”

Oh man. Can we all just get along (for the sake of the country)?!
