Nick Lachey Responds to Jessica Simpson’s Details About Their Marriage in Her Book
After Jessica Simpson wrote about her marriage with Nick Lachey in her new book, Open Book, he is finally responding in an interview with Today.
In the book, Jessica wrote about how she met Nick in 1998. They eventually tied the knot in 2002, and their marriage was showcased on the hit MTV reality show Newlyweds.
“He was my first love,” Jessica, who is now married to Eric Johnson, later told People. “We were young and pioneering our way through reality television, always mic’d and always on… We worked and we were great at it but when it came time to being alone, we weren’t great at it anymore.”
Now, during a visit with the Today show, Nick is sharing his own experiences.
“I’ll be honest, I obviously haven’t read the book, so I don’t know what she said or what she revealed there, but I’m certainly happy for her and her life, I know she is happy for us,” the 98 Degrees band member said. “There’s definitely a mutual respect there, so that’s, you know — obviously it was a long time ago; we’ve all moved on.”
We miss them together, but life is so strange. Both of them are happy, and if they’re happy… we’re happy. All’s well that ends well.
