Jessica Simpson Admits She Was Super Drunk on ‘Ellen’ in 2017

Jessica Simpson has opened up in her new book Open Book about dealing with alcohol abuse.

Now, she’s recently revealed one of the moments in which she hit rock bottom on national television.

“I can’t even watch the interview,” she told Today of her May 2017 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It was a weak moment for me and I wasn’t in the right place. I had started a spiral and I couldn’t catch up with myself … and that was with alcohol.”

On 2017 show, she made comments like, “We have an IUD. Nothing’s gonna get in that uterus,” when asked if she was pregnant.

She also said, “I don’t think I’ve ever had a seven-year relationship … other than with a woman.”

The remarks left viewers confused, and they commented on social media that she seemed to appear incoherent.

“I was killing myself with all the drinking and pills,” she wrote in the book. “Quitting was the easy part. I was mad at that bottle. At how it allowed me to stay complacent and numb.”

Wow. It’s not easy to speak out about these moments. Thank you, Jessica.
