Brad Pitt Says Bradley Cooper Helped Him Get Sober

Brad Pitt is sober and has never been happier, but as it turns out he has a very famous friend who helped him get there.

Bradley Cooper, who presented Brad with the award for best supporting actor at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala in New York City last night, ended up being an important pillar for Brad’s sobriety.

“Bradley just put his daughter to bed and rushed over here to do this,” Brad said at the beginning of his speech, according to People. “He’s a sweetheart. I got sober because of this guy and every day has been happier ever since.”

Since cleaning up in 2017, the actor has been vocal about how going to Alcoholics Anonymous helped him on his path.

In September, Brad told the New York Times, “I removed my drinking privilege,” and started going to a male Alcoholics Anonymous because he’d “taken things as far as I could take it.”

“You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard,” he continued with the Times. “It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself.”

We’re so happy you’re cleaning up, Brad. You look better than ever!
