Judge Almost Threw Harvey Weinstein in Jail For Using His Phone in the Courtroom

Does this guy care nothing about authority?

According to Page Six, Harvey Weinstein was almost thrown in jail by a judge for using his cellphone in court. The disgraced mogul had his first day in trial over rape and sex abuse allegations.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice James Burke threatened to remove Harvey for using his phone in the gallery of the courtroom before he sat at the defense table.

“Mr. Weinstein, I cannot implore you more to not answer the following question — that means don’t say anything,” the judge told him. “Is this really the way you want to end up in jail for the rest of your life, by texting and violating a court order?”

Apparently, Harvey simply bowed his head and did not answer as his attorneys desperately pleaded with the judge.

Ouch! Is it that hard to put your phone down when you’re part of the trial of the century?
