Here’s Why Tom Hanks Said He Has 5 Children, When He Is Actually a Father of 4

Who doesn’t love Tom Hanks?

While being honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes, the actor gave thanks to five children in his life.

During the speech, he gave a nod to his wife Rita Wilson, and his four children: Colin, Chet, Truman, and daughter Elizabeth. However, he also gave an incredible nod to Colin’s wife, Samantha Bryant, with whom Colin has been married since 2010.

“A man is blessed with a family sitting down front like that,” he said. “A wife who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is. Five kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is. And a loving group of people who have put [up] with me being away months and months and months at a time.”

According to People magazine, the Oscar-winning actor thinks of Sam as a daughter, which is why he included her in the “five kids” portion of the speech.

How sweet is that? Doesn’t he just want to make you go hug your father-in-law? LOL
