Queen Elizabeth Acknowledges She Had a ‘Bumpy’ Year in 2019’s Christmas Message

Queen Elizabeth is pointing out in her Christmas speech that the last 12 months have felt “quite bumpy.”

According to CNN, the 93-year-old monarch will refer to the life of Jesus and the importance of reconciliation in her pre-recorded broadcast.

“Small steps taken in faith and in hope can overcome long-held differences and deep-seated divisions to bring harmony and understanding,” she will reportedly say, adding, “The path, of course, is not always smooth, and may at times this year have felt quite bumpy, but small steps can make a world of difference.”

Of course, she did not specify whether she was referring to the political turmoil over Brexit or whether she was thinking of personal events involving her own family. Perhaps both!

Earlier this year, Prince Philip was involved in a car crash. Then, last month, Prince Andrew (her second son after Charles) announced he was stepping back from public duties following a widely-criticized interview about his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Page Six points out that in the video, while William and Kate are proudly seen in photos, Harry, Meghan Markle, and Andrew are nowhere to be found.

Intentional? Maybe so…
