Darlene Love Is a Fan of Mariah Carey’s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ Cover

What would Christmas be without Mariah Carey or Darlene Love? Boring, we say!

Turns out, out of all the singers who covered Darlene’s 1963 holiday classic, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” Mariah’s is by far her favorite.

However, there won’t be a Darlene/Mariah duet any time soon.

“The only reason I say maybe that might not work is because we might clash! We both sing the song the same way. We would have to probably rehearse. I don’t [usually] rehearse with anybody,” she told Page Six.

Darlene had something to say recently when Skylar Astin and Alex Newell performed her hit on NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” this month. The singer was slightly offended the network didn’t reach out to her.

“Show me some respect!” she posted on Facebook.

She later clarified to Page Six, telling the outlet: “I’m not talking about the two people that did the song. I’ve heard Michael Bublé sing my song and he sings the doo-doo out of it and he gives me props: ‘Darlene, I hope I do you justice.’ Mariah Carey says the same thing.”

Here’s the thing… the song is an anthem at this point and no one can sing it like Darlene. We’re always going to be on her side!

We love you, D!
