Disney+ Subscribers Say They Watch More Classic Films Than ‘Star Wars’

Since launching last month, the streaming platform Disney+ has racked up at least 10 million sign-ups through promotional partners (like Verizon) and a huge marketing push.

A new survey of Disney+ subscribers shows that the most-viewed content category on the platform isn’t new originals — like The Mandalorian — but its library of vault classics like The Lion King and Mary Poppins

Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult poll found that roughly 22 percent of Disney+ subscribers among all age groups say they watch classics the most on the platform.

Those who cite Star Wars are at 21 percent, Marvel are 15 percent, Pixar are at 14 percent, the Disney Channel are at 9 percent), The Simpsons are at 5 percent, National Geographic are at 3 percent, and Disney+ originals like Christmas movie Noelle are at 2 percent.

Whether you like it or not… the classics are here to stay, honey!
