Apparently, Gwen Stefani Can’t Marry Blake Shelton Just Yet Due to Her Faith
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been together for nearly four years and are ready to take the next step down the altar… but there’s just one thing: she’s a devout Roman Catholic.
“Blake was very serious about Gwen right from the start, and early on he thought about proposing,” an insider told People magazine. However, Gwen hopes to have a church ceremony with the country star.
The outlet reports that the Roman Catholic Church does not allow remarriage after a divorce unless the earlier marriage is annulled, which can be a lengthy process.
The source added that a church ceremony “isn’t possible currently.”
Still, both of them are certain they found “the one” in each other and are “very serious” about their relationship. “It’s definitely headed toward marriage.”
Geez. Who knew Gwen was such a loyal Catholic!
