Will Smith Responds to ‘Aladdin’ Star Mena Massoud Not Being Able To Find Work

Leave it to Will Smith to support his pal, Mena Masssoud!

As we previously reported, Mena opened up about not getting any auditions following Disney’s remake of Aladdin, which made over a billion dollars in the box office.

“I’m just hearing that right now, so I haven’t spoken to Mena,” Will, who played Genie in the remake, said to Variety in response to Mena’s statement. “He’s a spectacular actor and he has nothing to worry about.”

The Egyptian-Canadian actor admitted during an interview with The Daily Beast that he’s literally been to zero auditions since the film’s release.

“I’m kind of tired of staying quiet about it … I want people to know that it’s not always dandelions and roses when you’re doing something like Aladdin,” Mena told The Daily Beast. “‘He must have made millions. He must be getting all these offers.’ It’s none of those things. I haven’t had a single audition since Aladdin came out.”

We know he’s going to be fine, but what a great friend Will is for speaking out like this. We love you for it!
