WATCH: Harry Styles Shades Ex-One Direction Member Zayn Malik on ‘SNL’
Boy band drama is still a thing, y’all…
While hosting Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Harry Styles took a moment in his opening monologue to shade his former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik.
“I’m not in a boy band anymore,” he said. “I’m in a man band now. I was in a band called One Direction…. I love those guys. Niall, Liam, Louis…”
Then, he clearly pretends to struggle in remembering Zayn’s name before concluding, “and, uh, Ringo! Yeah, that’s it.”
Of course, other One Direction members have been sharing their thoughts on Zayn. In an interview with British GQ, Liam Payne stated that Zayn didn’t say bye to his bandmates after leaving One Direction.
“I think with Zayn’s particular exit and the way he chose to go, we haven’t really heard from him since he left,” Liam said. “He didn’t even say goodbye, if I am being honest. It was a really sordid scenario, from our side, certainly. A bit strange. It’s difficult.”
