Patricia Heaton’s Husband Has Been Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Carole’s Second Act producer David Hunt, who is also Patricia Heaton’s husband, has been accused of sexual misconduct by two female employees who later quit their jobs as a result.

According to the New York Times, David allegedly touched a female writer inappropriately. The writer ended up leaving the series along with a producer after they claimed the network mishandled their complaints.

The female writer in question is Broti Gupta, and according to the report, she said she went to HR about David touching her on two separate occasion.

At one point, he put his hand on her thigh. Later, Broti says after a work dinner David complimented her pants and ran a hand up her thigh again. Weeks later, she says David allegedly approached her and jerked her by the shoulders, the Times reported.

The writer brought up the encounters to co-executive producer Margee Magee, who encouraged her to speak out. The two women ended up going to executives to complain, but apparently they weren’t happy with how they handled it — so they quit the show.

According to the Times, Broti said she told HR she didn’t want them to fire David but rather give him sexual harassment training.

“I told them just my own personal code of ethics, which is that if there is space for education instead of punitive measures, then I believe in education,” she said.

Eventually, Broti claims that she and Margee were prohibited from attending certain rehearsals, which made them unable to do their jobs properly.

“That gave me no option but to leave the show,” Broti said.
