Freeform Is Producing Its First Gay Rom-Com ‘The Thing About Harry’

And it’s about time, too!

The channel Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, is premiering an original gay romantic comedy for Valentine’s Day next year called The Thing About Harry.

The film stars Grey’s Anatomy’s Jake Borelli and newcomer Niko Terho, and follows two former high school enemies who are trapped sharing a car together on a long road tip to a mutual friend’s engagement party, as Out magazine reports.

Um… we all know what happens next right?! LOL

Apparently, things heat up when Sam (Borelli), who has been out since high school, finds out that Harry (Terho) is also gay.

Together they find out they have a lot more in common than originally assumed. According to a press release, they “begin to develop a deep friendship — with neither admitting a potential romance may be brewing — leaving them wondering if one road trip could change the rest of their lives.”

But get this… the cast also includes Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown as Paul, a gay man who is “exceedingly well put-together” but “overbearing and pretentious.”

Additionally, GLOW’s Britt Baron stars as Sam’s best friend, and Queer As Folk’s Peter Paige (who also directs) is Sam’s roommate.

We don’t know about you, but we’re setting our calendars for this! The Thing About Harry will premiere in February 2020.
