Lori Loughlin’s Life Is Unraveling As College Admissions Trial Approaches

It truly is one of the most nuanced Hollywood trials in recent history, and Lori Loughlin is in the center of it. 

Since she and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, were indicted for their role in the nationwide college admissions scandal, the couple has been trying to stay off the radar. 

As the court date on January 17 approaches, the prosecution ended up surprising them with a third federal charge recently (conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery), which may push all hopes of a short sentence away.  

“The entire family is in chaos right now,” a source close to Lori told People. “They knew this was a possibility, but they thought perhaps it was just a bargaining tool from the prosecution. Now that the charges are official, they are realizing that there is no way to avoid a moderately long prison sentence, unless they are found not guilty in a trial.”

“They feel like this is David versus Goliath,” the source added. “How do you go up against the federal government when the government has decided to make an example out of you? This stress is about to break them.”
