Lori Loughlin Might Skip Out On Her Trial After All…

The Hollywood trial of the year is quickly approaching, and it may get even more intensified after recent developments — at least from a public standpoint.

Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying over $500,000 to bribe their two daughters’ way into the University of Southern California. Now, it’s believed that Lori may not have to go to court after all, following Felicity Huffman’s lenient two-week jail sentence for her own role in the scandal.

TMZ reports that Lori could be offered a plea deal. Federal prosecutors are not happy that Felicity walked away with a slap on the wrist, and now they’re worried Lori will receive a similar fate. So, they are now open to plea discussions — which means things would settle before trial.

On paper, Lori and Mossimo each face up to 40 years in prison on charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said earlier this month that Lori could receive a lighter sentence if she settles:

“Let’s say she goes through to trial, if it is after trial, we would ask for something substantially higher,” he told news station WCVB. “If she resolved it before trial, something lower than that.”

Eek! This is the worst game of Deal or no Deal we’ve ever seen.
