LeBron James Clears The Air Over Controversial Comments About China

NBA pro LeBron James recently had to defend himself over his comments about Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey and the China controversy.

In case you didn’t hear, Daryl wrote a tweet that showed support for Hong Kong amid aggressive protests against a proposed bill that would allow extraditions from Hong Kong to China. LeBron later told reporters that he believed Daryl was misinformed about the situation, which might have been the cause of the tone-deaf statement.

“I don’t want to get into a [verbal] feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke,” LeBron said, according to ESPN. “And so many people could have been harmed not only financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet and say and we do, even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too.”

Without a doubt, this will probably get more attention LeBron’s way. The question is whether it’s the good kind or not! Surely that’s up for audiences to decide.
