Reese Witherspoon Defends Her Friend Ellen DeGeneres Amid G.W. Bush Backlash
Ellen DeGeneres has been getting backlash for her friendship with former president George W. Bush, and her friend Reese Witherspoon is not having it.
It all started last weekend when Ellen was spotted sitting next to G.W. and his wife Laura Bush at a Dallas Cowboys football game. Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi were seen chatting and laughing with the Bushes during the game.
Ellen later defended her friendship on her show, which welcomed a lot support from friends.
“Thank you for this important reminder, Ellen!” Reese wrote in a since-deleted tweet that also included a quote from Ellen.
Ellen’s quote read: “I have friends who don’t think the same things that I do. When I say be kind to one another, I don’t mean be kind to the people who think the same way you do. I mean ..Be Kind to Everyone.”
