The New York Times fashion critic Vanessa Friedman is writing a biography about the late designer Kate Spade.

According to Page Six, Kate’s widower Andy Spade is aware of the project, but he’s anxious about its progress. Sources said that Andy is making attempts to influence the book, thought it’s not clear exactly how.

A couple days after Kate died, he told Vanessa, with whom he has a good relationship, “Kate suffered from depression and anxiety for many years. She was actively seeking help and working closely with her doctors to treat her disease, one that takes far too many lives.”

Andy had been separated from Kate for 10 months when she died in June 2018. The book should be a thought provoking must-read!
