Here’s Why Bethenny Frankel Quit ‘Real Housewives of New York’

As we previously reported, Bethenny Frankel announced that she’s quitting The Real Housewives of New York City.

Now, Page Six is reporting that the famous housewife left the show that made her famous after a “contract dispute.”

A source told the outlet that Bethenny already had “one foot out the door” as negotiations for season 9 kicked off with Bravo, and she “was confident there were options out there for her. She’s happy in her personal life with [real estate exec and film producer] Paul Bernon.”

So, Bethenny threw out a huge number to see if the network would agree. And apparently, they didn’t. That’s when she gave a statement about her departure to Variety. The announcement was so abrupt that many of the show’s producers didn’t know she was leaving until she shared on social media.

In the statement to Variety, she said: “It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women.”
